Day 1 - Dubai

Having sat on the runway in London for 2 hours before take-off due to a “paperwork” issue we finally landed in Dubai.

The day started with everyone being shocked as they walked out of the airport at how hot and humid it was - 39 degrees at 9am with nearly 90% humidity. We struggled to the coach, which took us for breakfast at The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. As you can imagine the food and setting was lovely along with the bonus of Dwight Yorke coming in but sadly most of the boys didn’t know who he was.

After breakfast we made our way to the Atlantis Hotel, where we spent the afternoon at the water park there. The boys and staff enjoyed the lazy river, slides where the floor drops away and ones that seemed to be sheer drops. The water provided a welcome break from the sunny 43 degrees! 

After the boys had showered we headed over to the Dubai Mall to grab some food and watch the fountain display in the shadow of the Burj Khalifa, which is the tallest building in the world.

We are now sat at the airport awaiting our 2.40am flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Fortunately it’s only a short transfer to the hotel and we have a day of acclimatising/relaxing after the action packed day today.
